Nam, underwear, and rain

This morning, after taking the boys to their bus stop, Jeanne, Elaine (little Sophia, 4),and I went to the open market, only available on Friday mornings. It was incredible the amount of goods that they brought out just for the morning and the amount of care that went into the display. Jeanne bought a variety of cheeses and berries.

Elaine purchased some marinated olives from the vast array. There was kitchen ware for sale, purses, fish, cheeses, olive bars, rotisserie chickens, plants, and tons of fresh produce. I bought some mums and a beautiful white viney thing to plant in a window box on my balcony.

Then we did a little clothes shopping. I found a basic little dress in a nice taupe for only 10E!

There was a stand with bras and panties that I got a kick out of…..just right on the street. And they weren’t even pretty…just basic whites and nudes….granny style. I didn’t want to be the uncouth American taking pictures of undies so I asked Elaine to “shop” beside them.

After our "ladies lunch" and a phenominal Indian restaurant, I ventured out on my own to run a couple of errands. These are some of the uniquely patterned facades along my way to the watch shop. Even though it was raining, it was not dismal, everything was still very active and beautiful.

The boys are really well mannered and sweet. Don’t get me wrong, they are all boy and have their mischievous moments, but all in all well behaved.

Moe and Jeanne are kind and very easy to be around. I am really happy with this situation and have no doubt this is going to be an amazing year!

This is Jeanne helping Max with a puzzle after school. She's such a good mom!
