Casa Juliao

The Pad... full of character and characters!

This is the street I live on with the Juliaos. Their apartment is the top floor, with the green awning.
It's a pretty quiet street to be so close to the city center and for a city of 1.3 million. There is a courtyard area for the kids to play in behind the casa.

The apartment has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, herringbone wood floors throughout, arched doorways, and an interesting use of glass door inserts to allow natural night throughout. The oval living room is a unique feature and is furnished with all Colombian made furniture from the family’s last post. French doors open onto a nice little balcony lined with flowers.

This is the courtyard down below where the kids like to play. There is a basketball goal and a beautiful vine covered patio on the other side.

My bedroom, with a little four poster turned bed, high ceilings, and a fantastic little balcony.I have yet to figure out the strategy in my shower. There are two levels, one cannot stand on just the upper or lower level at one time. Who designed this?

There are other quirky things in the apartment like the light switches are on the outside of all rooms. The first couple of days I would walk into a room and immediately have to walk right out to locate the light switch. The switches right inside the were to ring the service people's rooms which I've hit out of habit on occasion.

All in all, I am very happy to call this place my home for the next year!
